Turning a river cruise into a story people can already feel.

Context

Locaboat offers a unique way to travel : navigating rivers and canals at the rhythm of the water.
For this project, I joined a barge on the Canal du Midi to capture the essence of fluvial travel. Not as a destination, but as an experience.

✨ The key question ✨

How do you translate disconnection, simplicity and nature through images alone?

My role & angle

I created a photographic narrative built around three visual pillars:

  • immersion in nature and disconnection
  • moments of life on board, inside and outside
  • the convivial arrival of the boat at the port

The focus was on authenticity, capturing real moments, real light and a real pace.

Visual approach

→ Natural light and minimal staging

→ Emphasis on textures, landscapes and everyday gestures

→ A calm, immersive rhythm reflecting life on the water

The images highlight values central to Locaboat’s identity: simplicity, conviviality, micro-adventure and direct contact with nature.

Impact

The project provided Locaboat with a coherent and authentic visual story, designed to strengthen the brand’s appeal among travelers seeking nature, slowness and meaningful experiences.

___

Photographing Locaboat was about more than travel.
It was about capturing the art of slowing down.
